Report Sharing: Send Any Report Without Downloading or Printing It

A report is often needed by someone outside the yard. Your banker wants the pen inventory, a customer asks for their lot charges, or a manager on the road needs the yard sheet. Until now, that meant exporting the report, finding the file, opening your email, and attaching it by hand. On a phone, it was harder still.

Report Sharing puts a share button on every report in FLS Cloud. On a computer, it emails the report as a PDF in a few clicks. On a phone or tablet, it opens your device's own share menu, so AirDrop, Mail and Messages are one tap away.

Where to find it

Open any report and click Preview as usual. In the report toolbar, next to the print button, you will see an envelope icon. Hover over it on a computer and it reads Email this report. On a phone or tablet, the icon changes to a share symbol labelled Share.

The button works once the report has finished loading. It is the same on every report, from Pen Inventory by Pen to closeouts and statements.

Emailing a report from your computer

  1. Run the report and click the envelope icon.
  2. Check the To: address. The first time, it is your own email, so you can send yourself a copy.
  3. Add anyone else in CC: if needed.
  4. Review the Subject:, which is already set to the report's name.
  5. Leave Format: as Acrobat (PDF) file, or pick another format from the list.
  6. Read the short message in the box below, change it if you like, and click Send.

The message starts out as a plain note: "Hi, please find the Pen Inventory by Pen report attached. Thank you." You can type over it like any email.

FLS Cloud remembers the last address you sent to on that computer. If you send the pen inventory to your banker every Monday, the banker's address is already filled in next week, on any report.

Who the email comes from

The email arrives from Feedlot Solutions, so it reaches the inbox reliably and is not flagged as spoofed. When your recipient clicks reply, the reply goes to the email address on your FLS Cloud account, not to Feedlot Solutions. The conversation stays between you and them.

Sharing from a phone or tablet

  1. Open the report from the mobile app or your phone's browser and tap Preview.
  2. Tap Share in the toolbar.
  3. Wait a moment while FLS Cloud prepares the PDF.
  4. Choose where it goes from your device's share menu.

On an iPhone or iPad, that menu includes AirDrop, so you can hand a report to someone standing beside you at the chute. On Android, it lists Gmail, Messages, Drive and any other app you use to send files. The file is named after the report, for example Pen Inventory by Pen.pdf.

Important safeguards

  • The share button does nothing until the report has loaded, so you never send an empty document.
  • The email is only sent after the dialog checks the To: address is a valid email.
  • Your last-used address is remembered only in that browser, on that computer. It is not shared with other users.
  • If your phone takes too long preparing a large report, a small box appears saying Your PDF is ready. Tap Share again to continue. Your phone requires that second tap for security.
  • Closing the share menu without choosing an app cancels quietly. Nothing is sent.
  • If the PDF cannot be prepared, you see a message saying so, and nothing is sent.
  • On a device or app version that cannot share files directly, Share opens the PDF instead. You can share it from that preview.

Available in FLS Cloud

Report Sharing works on every report, on the desktop and in the FLS Cloud mobile app, at no extra cost. It turns "can you send me that report" into a ten-second job instead of a trip through your downloads folder. If you still export reports and attach them by hand, try the envelope icon on your next request and see what it saves you.
