Will This Lot Make Money? Find Out Today.
You don't have to wait until shipment to know how a lot is going to close out. The new Closeout Predictor in FLS Cloud takes the real data you've already entered — purchase cost, days on feed, feed cost to date, current weight, expenses, deaths — and projects it forward to ship day. You see profit, breakeven, and margin before a single head leaves the yard.
If you've used the Breakeven Calculator, the Closeout Predictor is its sister screen. The Breakeven Calculator is for cattle you haven't bought yet. The Closeout Predictor is for cattle already on feed.
Where To Find It
From the main menu go to Finance → Closeout Predictor, or open it from your menu shortcuts.

How It Works
- Pick a lot. The Lot dropdown shows every active lot with its current head count.
- Adjust the projection inputs. Five fields control the forecast:
- Projected Sale/CWT — defaults to the lot's most recent sale price
- Interest Rate
- End Date — defaults to the lot's estimated earliest finish date
- Avg. Gross Sale Wt. and Avg. Net Sale Wt. — default to the current average weight
- Click Preview. The right side fills in.
That's it. No setup, no templates, no spreadsheets.

What You See On The Right
Four headline tiles sit across the top, color-coded so you know at a glance where the lot stands:
- Profit
- Profit per Head
- Breakeven/CWT
- Margin/CWT (your sale price minus breakeven)
Below the tiles is the full Prospective Close Out detail panel — the same numbers as the Telerik report, on one scrollable page: Move-Ins, Projected Move-Outs, Head Days & Gain, Deaths, Feed, Cattle Cost / Sales, and a full Expense Breakdown (feed, yardage, salt, bedding, processing, transportation, medical, misc, and interest).

What You See On The Left
Right under your inputs is the Lot Inventory History panel — the lot's full story without leaving the screen:
- Animal type, head in, head in yard, avg head days, shipped, death loss
- Locations (which pens currently hold the lot)
- Lot Owners
- Move-Ins, Move-Outs (Shipped), Move-Outs (Deaths), Move-Outs (Culled)
- Lot Feed Summary
No more bouncing between screens to remember what's already happened on a pen.

Make Changes Without Leaving The Screen
The action buttons under the inputs let you act on the selected lot right then and there:
- Add Lot
- Move-In
- Move-Out
- Pen Transfer
- Add Expense
- Add Feed
Each one opens the standard FLS Cloud form in a pop-up window, pre-scoped to the lot you've already selected. Save it, close it, and you're back on the predictor.

Preview Is The Only Refresh
Closeouts are heavy calculations. To keep the screen fast, the Closeout Predictor only recalculates when you click Preview. Change the End Date, change the Sale/CWT, add a Move-Out — nothing recalculates until you ask for it. That means you can stage a "what-if" scenario in three or four edits and see the result in one shot, instead of waiting through a recalc on every keystroke.

A Few Things To Try
- Test a sale price. Type a different Projected Sale/CWT and hit Preview to see how profit per head moves.
- Push the End Date out. See what another two weeks on feed does to breakeven.
- Add a what-if expense. Use Add Expense to model a treatment cost or a transport bill, click Preview, and see the margin shift.
- Print the report. Click Report → Prospective Close Out or Lot Inventory History to open the full Telerik report in a new tab.
Why It Helps
Closeout projections used to mean a phone call to the office, a report request, and a wait. Now your yard manager can pull a live projection on any lot in under a minute — and run a half-dozen what-ifs before lunch. Better pricing decisions, earlier ship calls, fewer surprises at settlement.
