Tired of Reaching for the Mouse?
Date boxes used to need a click. Dropdowns used to need a click. If you enter a lot of move-ins, transfers, or expenses, every record meant going back and forth between keyboard and mouse. Not anymore.
The new behavior is live across every major Add and Edit form, including Cattle Move-In, Cattle Move-Out, Pen Transfer, Component Purchase, Item Purchase, Pen Feed, Lot Expense, Pen Expense, Lot Sorting, Update Weight, and the Move-In / Move-Out Export. The first date field gets focus automatically when the screen opens.
Just start typing. Four digits — 1026 or Eight digits — 10262026 — auto-format to 10/26/2026 when you Tab out. The full value is selected the moment the field gets focus, so you can overwrite it without backspacing first.
When focus lands on a dropdown — Lot, Pen, Source, Buyer, Ration, Animal Type — the list opens by itself. Use the Down Arrow to highlight an item, then press Enter or Tab to lock it in and move on.
Press Tab past the last button and focus wraps back to the first field. You can keep entering record after record without breaking rhythm. When you click Save & Continue, the cursor returns to the first field as soon as the save completes.
Faster bulk entry. Easier training — new staff learn one rhythm and use it everywhere. Fewer accidental edits, because the Enter key confirms each dropdown choice before moving on. And it works the same way on every supported screen, so you don't have to remember a different pattern for every form.
Open any Add or Edit screen, type the date, and try entering a full record without touching the mouse. After two records, the new way feels obvious.
