You run several lots through the chute, and most of them get the same vaccine, the same dewormer and the same implant. With bulk expense entry, you save one lot, click **Continue**, and the screen clears so you can start the next one. After that you pick the same items again, enter the same unit prices again and choose the same category again, once for every lot. **Keep items after Continue** stops that repetition. When you check it, **Continue** keeps your item rows, unit prices and category, and clears only the lot or pen. You pick the next lot, check the quantities and save. ## Where to find it The option is on both bulk expense screens, under **Finance**: - **Bulk Add Lot Expenses** - **Bulk Add Pen Expenses** The **Keep items after Continue** checkbox sits on the button row, to the left of **Add Row**, **Cancel**, **Continue** and **Save**. Open **Bulk Add Lot Expenses** or **Bulk Add Pen Expenses** and set the **Date**. 2. Check **Keep items after Continue**. 3. Pick the first lot or pen, choose a **Category**, then enter each **Item**, **Quantity** and **Unit Price**. 4. Click **Continue**. The expenses are saved, and the item rows stay on screen. 5. Pick the next lot or pen. Review the quantities, fill in any blank ones, and click **Continue** again. 6. On the last lot, click **Save** to finish and return to the expense list. FLS remembers whether the box is checked, so it stays checked the next time you open the screen on that computer. ## How FLS handles the quantities Prices and items usually carry over unchanged from one lot to the next. Quantities often do not, so FLS treats them in one of two ways: - **A quantity equal to the head count of the lot you just saved** is treated as "one per head." When you pick the next lot, it changes to that lot's head count, and **Total Price** is recalculated. - **Any other quantity** is cleared, so you enter it for the new lot. Doses measured in mL or by weight rarely match from lot to lot. Here is an example. Lot 112 has 120 head. You enter a vaccine with **Quantity** `120` at `$2.40`, and an antibiotic with **Quantity** `360` mL. You click **Continue** and pick Lot 115, which has 85 head. The vaccine changes to 85, for a total of $204.00. The antibiotic quantity is blank until you enter it. If you type a new quantity on a row, that number stays as you typed it, even if you then pick a different lot. ## What stays and what clears - **Kept:** item rows, unit prices, units, the **Category** and the **Date**. On the pen screen, **Split by** is kept as well. - **Cleared:** the lot or pen, and quantities that were not the head count. - **Unchecked:** **Continue** works as before and clears the whole grid and the category. ## Important safeguards - **A row that has an item but no quantity cannot be saved.** FLS shows "Quantity is required" with the row number, so a blank quantity is never saved as a $0 expense. - **The rule that unit prices must be greater than zero still applies** to every kept row. - **Nothing is saved until you click Continue or Save** for the new lot. Keeping rows only fills in the form. - **The checkbox setting is stored in your browser only.** It does not change what other users see, and it does not follow you to another computer. - **The bulk screens are not available on phones.** Use a tablet or desktop for bulk expense entry   *.*   Not using FLS Cloud yet?
