Introducing Mix List: Your Feed Mixing Calculator in Feedlot Solutions Cloud

The Mix List is a handy tool that helps you figure out exactly how much of each feed component you need at different total weight levels. Think of it as a recipe scaler for your rations — you pick a ration, set your weight range, and the system calculates everything for you.

Getting There

From the top menu, click Feed, then select Mix List.

You'll see two panels: Ration Details on the left and Report Parameters on the right.

Setting Up Your Mix List

1. Choose a Ration

Use the Ration dropdown to select the ration (feed recipe) you want to work with. Once selected, the components and their percentages will load automatically in the Mix Order table.

2. Adjust the Mix Order (Optional)

If you'd like to change the order in which components are mixed, simply click on a component row to highlight it, then use the Up or Down buttons to move it. The order you set here will be saved automatically when you generate the report.

Tip: The mix order is saved per ration, so next time you open the same ration, your custom order will still be there.

3. Set Report Parameters

Fill in the four fields on the right panel:

• Start At — The starting total weight (e.g., 0)
• Stop At — The ending total weight (e.g., 50,000)
• Step Of — The increment between each column (e.g., 8,000 means the report shows weights at 0, 8000, 16000, 24000...)
• Round To — Round component amounts to the nearest value (e.g., 100 rounds to the nearest hundred)

4. Cumulative Mode

The Cumulative checkbox controls how weights are displayed:

• Checked (default) — Each column shows the running total of feed needed up to that point.
• Unchecked — Each column shows only the additional amount needed for that step.

Tip: Your parameter settings are remembered automatically. Next time you open Mix List, they'll be pre-filled with your last values.

Generating the Report

Click the Generate button. The mix list table will appear below, showing each component's required amount at every weight level.

The report is organized in sections of up to 7 columns each. If your weight range is large, you'll see multiple tables stacked, each covering the next set of weight levels.

Note: If you change the ration or reorder components after generating, the report will hide automatically to remind you to click Generate again with the updated settings.

Printing and Exporting

Once your report is generated, you'll see two buttons next to the report title:

• Export PDF — Downloads the mix list as a PDF file to your computer. Great for emailing or saving a copy.
• Print — Opens your browser's print dialog so you can send it straight to the printer. The parameter panel and menus are automatically hidden in the printout.
