Your nutritionist writes pounds per head. Now the ration screen takes them.

A nutritionist hands you a sheet: 20 lbs silage, 8 lbs DDG wet, 2.5 lbs hay, per head per day. The ration screen wants percentages. So before anyone touches the software, somebody sits down with a calculator — and does it again every time a number changes.
Total the pounds, divide each one by the total, round to two decimals, nudge the last row until it hits 100.00%, then type the percentages in.
Type the pounds. FLS works out the percentages, and lands on 100.00% every time.
Open any ration — Add Ration or Edit Ration — and look at the toolbar above the component grid. Next to the running total there is a checkbox: Enter Daily As Fed Instead.
Tick it and the Rate column steps aside for Daily As Fed, and the Total 100.00% badge is replaced by Total As Fed. Untick it and they swap back. Only the column you are typing into is on screen, so there is never a second number on the row to second-guess.

The percentages are not recalculated the moment you type the first pound. If they were, every other row would derive to 0% and the last one would swallow the whole remainder — your existing ration destroyed one keystroke in. FLS holds off until every ration row has an amount, then converts the set in one go.
It works the other way too. Untick the box, edit a percentage, and the amounts re-split to match — but the day's intake stays exactly where it was.
Changing how a ration is divided says nothing about how much of it an animal eats. 59.43 lbs/hd before the edit is 59.43 lbs/hd after it.
An additive's rate is its daily amount, so those rows are typed in the same column as everything else. And because the ration's tonnage is now known, two new boxes appear beside the per-head figures: Additive Price /ton and Additive Cost /ton — what the additive is adding to every ton of this ration, in the same units as the ration's own price and cost.
The amounts are saved with the ration, and so is the mode. Reopen it next month and the box is still ticked, with your pounds still in it. Turn the mode off and the amounts stay in the record — turn it back on and you carry on where you left off.
Ration rows take two decimals; additive rows take four, because a micro-ingredient dosed at 0.0005 lbs/hd disappears at two. Metric feedlots enter kilograms and the conversion happens underneath — what you typed is what you get back.
Enter Daily As Fed Instead is available now in FLS Cloud, on both the Add Ration and Edit Ration screens. Existing rations are untouched: every one of them opens in percentage mode exactly as it always has, until you tick the box.
