For Canadian feedlot operators, reporting animal movements to the Canadian Livestock Tracking System (CLTS) is a mandatory part of doing business. But too often, it is also a headache.
You process cattle through the chute, record their tags in your management software, and then... sit down at a computer to manually re-enter all those data into the CLTS website. It is time-consuming, prone to typing errors, and frankly, a chore you shouldn't have to do.
We fixed it.
We are proud to announce the new Submit Move-In/Out to CLTS feature in FLS Cloud. This direct integration allows you to report cattle movements to the CLTS database without ever leaving your feedlot management software.
This new tool connects FLS Cloud directly to the CLTS database. Instead of exporting CSV files or typing in tag numbers, you can select a Lot or Pen in FLS Cloud and "push" that data to the government database with a few clicks.
It handles both Move-In (induction) and Move-Out (shipping) events, ensuring your traceability records are always up to date.
To launch the tool, go to: Cattle → Move-In/Out Submission
After you click the Custom Report menu, this screen will appear.
We designed this workflow to be as simple as possible.
Before you start, you'll need to link your account.
Click the Settings button on the new submission screen.
Enter your CLTS Username, Password, Account ID, and Premises ID.
Click Save. You only need to do this once!
When you receive or ship cattle:
Select the Event (Move-In or Move-Out) and the Date.
Choose the Lot and Pen.
FLS Cloud instantly displays a list of all animals in that location.
You can select all animals or check off specific ones.
Click Submit. The system sends the data securely to CLTS in the background.
You don't have to wait around. You can check the View Status screen later to see the results.
The status screen gives you a clear "Green Light" for success or a specific error message if a tag failed (e.g., "Tag already submitted"), so you can fix it immediately.
1. Eliminate Data Entry Errors: Manual typing is the #1 cause of compliance issues. By submitting the exact EID tags scanned at the chute, you ensure 100% accuracy.
2. Save Hours of Office Time: Submitting a pen of 200 head takes seconds, not hours.
3. Stay Audit-Ready: With accurate, timely reporting, you can rest easy knowing your traceability obligations are met.
The CLTS Submission feature is available now for all Canadian FLS Cloud users. Log in today to set up your credentials and send your first report.
