Night checks happen at 2 a.m., treatments go on a board at the chute, and weights get typed in later, or never. Then the calves sell, and someone spends the week hunting for vaccination dates and withdrawal times. **CattleGo** is herd management software for cow-calf ranches, from Feedlot Solutions. You record calvings, breedings, preg checks, treatments and weights on your phone as you work. The same records are on the computer when you sit down to plan the season. Set when the bulls go in, and it lays out preg checks, calving, weaning and yearling weights for you. - **Calving**: who's due, who's in labor and for how long. Every calf is recorded with its dam, sire, birth date and weight. - **Breeding and preg checks**: natural service or AI, sires and dates. Preg check results give each cow a due date. - **Health**: record a treatment once, and CattleGo works out when the animal can ship and when its booster is due. - **Weaning and sale**: adjusted 205-day weights, printed preconditioning records for buyers, and pounds weaned per cow exposed. - **Pastures**: which animals are on which pasture, for how long, and which pastures are rested. - **Your crew**: everyone works on the same herd, and a logbook shows who entered what, and when. ![](https://feedlotsolutions.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-30-2026-03-38-31-7298-AM.png?width=1266&height=891&name=image-png-Oct-30-2026-03-38-31-7298-AM.png) ## How a calving gets recorded 1. Open the calving board. Labor timers turn amber at an hour and red at 90 minutes. 2. Tap **Calved** when the calf is on the ground. The calf's tag is suggested from the cow's. 3. Choose heifer or bull calf, then add birth weight, calving ease and calf vigor. 4. Save. The calf now has its own record, ready for its first weight, treatments and weaning. For the barn at night, tap **Night mode**. The board turns dark and high-contrast, with big buttons. ## How chute day works 1. Start a session for treating, weighing, breeding or preg checking. 2. Scan the EID with a connected reader, or type the tag. The animal comes up with a beep. 3. A connected scale fills in the weight once it holds steady. The last weight and gain appear next to it. 4. Tap **Save & next** and bring in the next animal. When the pen is done, you get a summary of head count, average weight and gain, and how many are pregnant. CattleGo works with Bluetooth readers and scales from Gallagher, Tru-Test and Allflex, and with Gallagher TW scales over Wi-Fi. ## What happens when there's no signal You keep working. Every record is saved on the device the moment you save it. - With no connection, the app shows `Saved on this device · will upload when online`. - You can always see how many records are waiting to upload. - Records go to your ranch's account when you're back in range with the app open. - EID readers and scales talk to the phone, not the internet, so they work with no signal too. ## Important safeguards - If an animal is still in withdrawal, the chute screen tells you before you treat it. - The **Shipping check** shows who's clear on the day the trailer comes. It also lists animals treated with no withdrawal recorded, so none is assumed safe. - Pasted spreadsheets, like sale barn sheets or a vet's Bangs list, are matched by tag or EID. You see a preview before anything is saved. - The mating check shows grey when a pedigree is too thin to judge. The final call is always yours. - Only the people you add to your ranch can see its records. - When someone leaves, you disable them. Their records stay on the herd. - You need a connection the first time you sign in on each device. ## Available on phone, tablet and computer CattleGo runs in the app for iPhone and Android, and in any web browser at app.cattlego.com.
